Searching for a new report, we ran into Rui Marques. Since little he began to develop
his taste for engines. After competing
with Kars and later bikes, he’s now knee-deep into a Drift Project, pulling
the lever in a Datsun 720!
With the Cargo-Box
removed, balance became a problem…
…or maybe
an advantage!
The Engine
is completely stock, a 2.2 Diesel with the application of a…
… Turbo
coming from a Mercedes-Benz V6!
To help the
cooling, a second radiator was added in the back, with an inclination for the ‘curves’.
The
interior was completely stripped and only the necessary was left behind.
In addition
of the Sticker Bomb, the dashboard was modified to shelter some extras, like the Turbo and Water-Temperature Gauges.
Safety was not forgotten, 4-Point belts were added, two competition-seats and
a Roll-Bar in the rear.
Rui counts
with the support of his father in every competition he’s in, reigning good disposition
between them two!
And like this we have to dismiss us and let them chase the Bad-Boys.
Thanks for giving us this opportunity, and good luck!
You can’t
escape the Drift Patrol!

That is quite the build. I don't know that much about diesels but I'm surprised it accepted that large of a turbo stock! Nice job Mr. Marques.
